Lab Technician

 

ROLE PURPOSE:

Perform routine analyses of scheduled samples during normal operation of plants, test runs and product blend trials, using calibrated lab instruments.

Description : 

• Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses, including LIMS data entry, of process intermediates and waste water effluent, finished products and blending samples using accepted analytical methodologies.
• Handles independently with minimal supervision all types of instruments assigned to the laboratory.
• Assess instrument performance using control sample.
• Prepare necessary reagents at reagent-grade purity.
• Monitors and reports about the provision of lab chemicals and glassware.
• Monitor the safe and efficient tasks completion by Lab contractors.
• Perform housekeeping activities within the area of responsibility.

Knowledge Experience & Qualifications:
 

• Minimum Qualifications for this position is Diploma in relevant science courses.
• Minimum years of relevant experience is 2 years in a similar role.
• Knowledge of petroleum test methods and test significance.
• Experienced with products specifications.
• Skills:
• Computer-interfaced Lab equipment.
• Making measurements with scientific equipment.
• Communication skills.
