Overview

Murooj Electronic Services has recently acquired a majority interest in Yemen Financial Services Company (YFSC), which is owned by 11 banks and operates Yemen’s National Switch interbank network. The acquisition is intended to kick-start a payment transformation in Yemen’s present economic turmoil.

In light of this vision, Murooj triggered the creation of Yemen’s “National Mobile Wallet Company” (NMWC) that will integrate the YFS, banks, the private sector, telecoms, and government institutions (i.e. post authority). This job post is hired for the NMWC.

The National eWallet enables people to use their mobile phone to easily pay for their goods, leveraging over 100,000 direct retail and distributor’s network to build commercial acceptance for digital payments. No other entity has commercial reach to successfully rollout an accepted Mobile Wallet.

Murooj was established in 2017 and is a partnership between Cornerstone Holdings, a regional investment company, and the Hayel Saeed Anam Group (HSA) Yemen’s leading privately owned company and a diverse multinational corporation.

The company is based in Yemen with offices in Cairo. Murooj is focused on addressing Yemen’s severe financial challenges on the ground by introducing innovative mobile payment mechanisms that bypass currency shortages and meet the real needs of Yemen’s citizens and businesses.

Position Title:     Training Specialist     

Location:           Sanaa, Yemen

                             Travel will be required to Cairo occasionally

 Reporting Relationships :      Operation Manager

Main Focus and Challenges :  

This role is to be part of the Operation program of work for the National Mobile Money programme. The programme is an opportunity to accelerate a major new commercial electronic financial services project whilst delivering societal benefit through financial inclusion in Yemen. Reporting to OM, the position will be responsible for reporting to the Operations Manager, overseeing the testing and then training of products and services, as well as development of all training material. The Training Specialist will also be responsible for continued monitoring of the knowledge levels within all channels.

Specific Responsibilities

Conducts training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks.

• Designs training manuals by identifying and describing information needs; using available software programs to develop the training material; submitting initial versions for review; revising and editing final copy.

• Maintains safe and healthy training environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.

• Conduct training classes ensuring train the trainer methodology is used to disseminate all training material into the channels.

• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

 • Evaluates training by evaluating effectiveness of training to specific job applications.

 • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.

 • Superior interpersonal skills. Able to present in front of big audience in an engaging and appealing manner.

• Run focus groups customer testing and surveys.

• Design and lead internal and external workshops

• Meet with system users, vendors and product team to understand the scope of projects.

 • Identifying business requirements for new products and ensure these are covered in the testing plans.

• Providing objective feedback to software development project teams.

• Assist in resolving problems.

• All finding must be presented to product team.

• Trainer needs to work on multiple projects at one time.

• Undertake leadership of all training and testing activities.

• Establish KPIs, conduct monthly performance evaluations and plan staff training and skills improvement.

• Maintain strong ties and consistent communication with Marketing, Product and Technical teams to capture appropriate commercial requirements and manage technical implementation and project timelines

The Person

The successful candidate will ideally come from a best in class company, Telecom, NGO or multinational background with extensive experience in Training . They will be a highly capable member to a team, used to operating as a Training Specialist or equivalent with regional responsibility. He/she will be a natural change agent who brings prior restructure and build experience, who is used to fixing and creating from scratch. The successful candidate will be driven by making a difference and therefore have the passion to drive growth. Demonstrating significant intellect and capability to operate in a very complex business operation, with multiple stakeholders, he/she will demonstrate strong attention to detail, exceptional integrity, and a hands-on, lean approach. If you are CREATIVE and PASSIONATE, you are the right candidate.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3-5 years relevant experience in a managerial or specialist role within a Telecommunications or   Financial Services environment, having being exposed to multiple disciplines or an educator.

• Relevant experience in product operation role within a product development environment, having being exposed to product development processes and support.

• Relevant post graduate diploma or degree, commercial focus preferred.

• Project Management – experience working in large projects

• Customer focused – passionate about delivery of results to internal and external customers.

• Solid understanding of market, competitors, & customer.

• Strong Analytical skills – able to assess reports, identify issues, root cause, and recommend solutions, expert spread sheet skills a distinct advantage.
