Organizational Context and Scope:
Under the overall supervision of the Project Assistant (MAOSMS) and in coordination with the Senior Programme Assistant– Migration Assistance and National Programme Officer based in Sana’a, the incumbent will support to ensure on site migrant services are well coordinated, supported and delivered in line with IOM principles, protection principles and programming objectives. The individual will be responsible for supporting in monitoring activities and activities of additional staff on site supporting logistics, deliver and monitoring of conditions of migrants and other vulnerable populations.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Support distribution of critical humanitarian support to migrants including NFIs (hygiene items, dignity kits, mattresses/bedding, and other items necessary). Ensure that the distributions are well documented and registered.
  2. Ensure that conditions in the IPNA Facility are to minimum standards specifically raising attention to any issues related to access to water, sanitation; maintenance of the holding areas (sleeping, eating and other quarters).
  3. Ensure migrants requiring medical assistance are referred promptly to the IOM clinic
  4. Participate in any information sessions and awareness raising for migrants to improve safety, well-being and dignity.
  5. Contribute to daily reporting on conditions, numbers of migrants, needs and feedback from migrants.
  6. Perform any other task as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION

  • University degree (B.S.c) in social science, business administration or other relevant discipline. EXPERIENCE
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position, with good understanding of the socio-political context in Yemen
  • Understanding of standards and practices in migrant protection and assistance;
  • Understanding of protection principles and experience in humanitarian emergency response;
  • Prior professional experience with a humanitarian organization is required;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Good level of IT literacy (MS. Word & Excel).
