Summary:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Data Management (DMO) will dedicate 100% of his/her time leading, coordinating and ensuring the high quality implementation of project activities. The DMO’s primary role is to collect all relevant data and report it to the donor.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Management

  • Building capacity of MIS staff for managing projects information during implementation of the program along with Emergency response intervention through provision of technical guidance and on-the-job training of the MIS focal persons.
  • Providing support to MIS staff in data collection, data processing, data analyzing and generating statistical reports, graphs, maps and follow up on trends of projects indicators for the purpose of improving the decisions making.
  • preparing and sharing the sectors/clusters' related data, information, maps, guidelines, polices, interventions mapping and analysis and other IM products among the partners, in assisting to ensure a good identifying the needs, driving the response, eliminating the duplications and filling the gaps.
  • Developing simple and user-friendly data reporting tools, maps, Infographics, reports, and statistics.
  • Generating and analyze the IMS reports in a timely and accurate manner and identify and report on response priorities, gaps in assistance and areas that need additional interventions to improve quality of service delivery.
  • Maintain the central databases and ensuring all projects data is held securely and Monitor the archiving system (Software or hardcopy) for projects to ensure the comprehensive and storage the data.
  • Lead a process to develop, customize and establish an efficient Management Information System (MIS);
  • Lead and manage the MIS team, ensuring that staff are managed, trained, and motivated to meet the objectives;
  • Design the required MEAL tools for the project including the Indicators Tracking Tools, Templates, Checklists, and other tools as required.
  • Develop the project reporting matrix in close coordination with the designated program's staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct and supervise the data collection, analysis, and quality check of data and activities implemented.
  • Provide support to the needs assessments, and needs analysis activities; manage platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis such as KoBo Toolbox.
  • Assists IM team in Data Analysis:  organize, design and carry out the evaluation and analysis of needs assessment datasets through meaningful statistical techniques.
  • Provide support on data management: design, develop and manage databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; consolidate information on a regular schedule to support analysis.
  • Provide support on visualization: produce and update information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline.
  • Produce and update high-quality map products by using Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Any other duties as requested and assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information or data management and processing field or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of previous experience in data management for humanitarian or development projects.
  • Management roles preferably in complex emergency programs for INGOs.
  • Applicable knowledge working with statistic databases.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in health and nutrition programming.
  • Very good written English and ability to write good quality reports.
  • Strong computer skills – basic web design and database management, experience of GIS software would be an advantage.
  • Experience in data processing, analysis and visualization, creation of reports.
  • Excellent command of Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience in IM in a UN context will be an advantage;
